Just blow outs

I am excited!! This Friday is the grand opening of a new local bar. And I am not talking about that kind of bar. It's a blow dry bar. How cool is that. For $35 dollars you can get a blow dry. They had the cutest menu to choose from like the Mai tai, which is messy and beachy or the Southern Comfort for lots of volume. Those were just a couple of the choices to choose from. I also love that you can get a floater which is basically a head and neck massage. They do wash your hair of course.
I think this a great idea. A place to get your girlfriends together before a fun nite or even better brunch blowouts with complimentary bagels and croissants.
Here is the link if you want to find a location in your area.

Sex and the City 2 party

Head on over to Second City Soiree for some great inspiration for all you SATC ladies. I would love to host a party with all my girlfriends to celebrate our friendship and the movie. I LOVED this show and was so sad when it ended. I have so many wild and carefree memories of my partying days and it was right around the same time I watched this show.

Also if you check out her site you will not only find great ideas but a free download of goodies to use in your party decor. Isn't she sweet?

Tutus and Tuques, Get Involved

Tutus and Tuques was inspired by the story of Kate Mc Rae. A 5 year old girl with a cancerous brain tumor. The creator was so touched by Kate's moms words on her blog that she often thought of Kate and her own daughter. A her daughter danced around in her tutu she wondered if Kate will get the chance to do the same and many other kids for that matter.

I encourage all of you to get involved, contact your friends , moms neighbors and get together for tutus and tuques. You will recieve a package in the mail with all of the supplies needed to make tutus and tuques (hats) for the children that are in hospitals battling a terrible disease.

It is so simple, it's for a great cause and no talent or skill is required.

Check out the site for more detailed info

A baby shower and a shout out

I had the pleasure of hosting a baby shower for my dearest friend Shana and I wanted to just give my shout out to some great vendors.

First off, she did not want any pink but we has to throw in just a touch with these roses.
If you live in LA you must go to the flowermart downtown LA. You can get bunches of flowers for as little as $6 dollars. My friend purchased 6 glass vases filled them with miniature tea roses grand total was something like $35. What a deal.

This yummy cupcake is actually a bath bomb made by Sudsymugsy on etsy. She's awesome and the bathbombs were a huge hit. The colors were perfect. We asked for red and turqouise and she managed to make it happen.

Mini cupcakes from Vanilla Bakeshop in Santa Monica. Her store is to die for. It was truly cupcake heaven. Actually it reminds me of a jewelry store for cupcakes. They are so pretty.

Papersource is a must for all of your paper needs. The sweet suitcase was another great find because it came in the coordinating colors for the shower. Instead of a guest book we had guests write a sweet note to baby Farrah and then place inside the box. These will be mementos of her special day. We read the notes later that day and they were so sweet and special.

The yummy favors (bath bombs) all wrapped up and ready to go.
The party was a hit and fun and I just loved the color combo of red and turqouise. Next month I host another babyshower but for a boy.
