In honor of Earth Day

I just heard through the social media grapevine of two events happening in honor of Earth Day

Lowe's will be giving away 1 million free trees on Earth Day April 23rd.

Stop in at any Starbucks and get a free coffee or tea when you bring in your mug or tumbler.
April 22.

These are some great freebies all in honor of my birthday Earth Day!!

I'm late for a very important date.

My hubby's birthday is today and unfortunatley he is out of town. The upside of it is I get a little more time to figure out what to get him. I am so bad like that. Seriously.
He got tons of birthday cards in the mail this weekend and not one from me. Thankfully my mom ( who knows me very well) sent my hubby a birthday card from the girls. I know, I know it sounds heartless but I did have a busy weekend and turkey day is just around the corner too. Just last year his birthday fell on thanksgiving day and that was tough because I needed to make him feel special while I basted the turkey and mashed the potatoes.
I think I may make him some whoopie pies. I do know for sure that a way to his heart is through sweets and chocolate.

My Fairy Princess Turned Three

My daughter turned three today.

Happy Birthday Lovey! May all of your dreams come true!

She is growing so fast.

I love watching her grow into a little princess and to see the friendships that she has developed along the way.

The theme was Fairy Princess

Tink came by for a visit to wish her a happy birthday.

After a treasure hunt they came across special treasures in a box for everyone to share.

I think I may need to invest in a table with table cloths and cloth napkins. The girls became princesses and behaved so well.

My little fairy

The beautiful table decor from PartyPax.net It's an awesome resource for creating a beautiful party. The table decor was truly a party in a pack. Everything you see was provided by her and I just picked it up and set it up in 10 minutes. If you are local you should check it out. Tons of great ideas too.

Another year, another chapter, a fresh start

A birthday is just the first day of another 365 day journey around the sun. Enjoy the ride. Author Unknown

I must remember to sit back and enjoy the ride of life. There will be bumps, curves, U-turns and dead ends but there will always be a way home. I have had a rough year. Life has felt chaotic, stressful, busy and just out of control. I feel lost sometimes and I am feeling the imbalance of trying to do it all.... Wife, mom, friend, sister etc...

Well good morning sunshine. Today is my day. 35 years today. It's a big one for me. I don't know why maybe because I am 15 years closer to 50 which means I am also 15 years away from my 20's. I am feeling a bit emotional and excited at the same time. I see before me great changes, a new outlook on life. I am letting go of being perfect and beginning the work on becoming myself.

I want to take care of myself, take a cooking class, a wine tasting class. Learn to love the outdoors again. Skip, jump, laugh and play with my girls. Strengthen my relationship with my husband. Laugh and talk with my friends. Travel more. Go on date nights. Enjoy the beach more and not stress about the sand that my girls eat or rub into their hair.

Most importantly I want to be healthy, vibrant and energized from the inside out. I must make greater effort to achieve this. I believe a high quality life starts with the best you. This means I need to breathe, be more mindful and present in the moment.

Today is my birthday.

I will savour the flavor, the tastes and the moments of lifes treasures.

I will have my cake and eat it too.

Indoor S'mores and a thank you

Here is a sneek peak of my daughter's 3rd birthday party invite. We are doing an enchanted fairy party for her and her little fairy friends. This lovely design came from TomKat Studios . She just did a fairy party for her daughter and it was gorgeous. Check out her work it's amazing.

So today I thought it would be nice to have s'mores for dessert outside using our firepit.
Didn't happen due to the rain and wind. So I remembered seeing an alternative in EatWell magazine a long time ago. Here is what you do and it is so easy.

The final product. Gooey perfectly toasted marshmallows with melted chocolate sauce. You could place another cracker on top and smush the inside together. It's so good.

After you remove them from the oven the marshmallows are perfectly burnt and gooey

The key is to place under the broiler with the oven door ajar. The cooking process takes seconds. Like 15 to be exact.

I placed the crackers and marshmallows on wax paper and placed under the broiler on high.

A courtyard and a man's cake

I love my man. He has become the DIY'er around the house lately.
He made this....
into this.....

So for his hard work and his birthday
I made this (okay he helped too) for him.
Truly a man's cake. Peanut butter, chocolate and peanut butter cups. There is nothing light or fruity in this cake. It's just rich sweet and oh so good.
Got milk?

Happy Birthday to my husband

He is the only man I know that loves chocolate more than any woman I know. Seriously, the man does a happy dance whenever he gets to sink his teeth into anything chocolate.
I love you and I hope to see many more of your happy dances.
Looking forward to a happy celebration tomorrow and of course some delicious chocolate-eey sweetness.

You are my Sunshine

Briana celebrated the big ONE this past weekend and it was just perfect. I chose a yellow theme since I sing "you are my sunshine" to her all the time. I had fun planning this party, I was quite the DIY-er and I must say I am proud. I get so many ideas in the blog world that I had to bring some of them to life. These life celebrations are so special and I love that I can put my whole heart into it.

Happy Birthday Briana!!!!!!

Happy Birthday Briana!
