Garden Mirrors

They give the illusion of space, doorways to secret gardens
Frame them and they look like windows with beautiful garden views

I just love the idea of adding mirrors to an outdoor space. It fools the eye, creates extra light and space and can make an outdoor garden very mysterious.

It's beautiful and a keeper in my "hope to do this someday" file.

Spring showers bring May flowers

I am in love with this gardening area. It's all DIY. You can see all of the reusing, recycling and refurbishing that was done.

I see a pot rack, a dresser, shelves and a frame that was once used to frame the mirror for the dresser.
How creative to use some wood with large enough holes drilled to hold these galvanized buckets.

Just beautiful and colorful. I hope to have an area like this someday. Great ideas don't cha think?

Inspiration for the Outdoors

I just love the use of rain gutters planted with ivy to create a privacy wall.

I will have to try this. Milk cartons were used for the cement molds.

Or an even prettier option is to use wicker baskets for molds.

A mint chandelier sounds so refreshing and easy enough to do. Hang your pot from wire.

Herb towers are so popular. Anyone can have an herb garden now. Even someone with limited space. This would be great to have on the patio next to the kitchen.

Garden Inspiration

I just love arbors. They remind me of secret gardens. A magical entrance to a special place. That is my goal. I have an area that would be perfect for an arbor and a beautiful garden. I hope to achieve this by late spring early summer.

Craving color in the garden

They say it's supposed to rain tomorrow. Living in Cali we need it terribly but when it's here we want it to go away. I miss working in the garden. Our poor backyard needs a huge overhaul. My dog has decided to use it as his toilet as well. Who does he think he is?
Well I can tell you one thing that is gonna change around here. I am taking my garden back this spring.

Mediterranean Garden Part II

Well this past weekend we worked on our dirt pile. I am very pleased with the progress and I am looking forward to more work on my dream outdoor courtyard. We have a huge front yard that is perfect for creating an outdoor room. After so much research we decided on creating a natural wall with boxwoods. I just love boxwoods. I never realized how luscious and versatile they truly are. And much more cost effective than a stone wall. I was a bit sad at first that we couldn't hire someone to build us a wall but I think I am happy with what we have decided. In the end it will be a much softer and natural look. I have also posted some lovely inspiration via Decorno blogspot.
The start of something beautiful, 28 planted boxwoods all in a row.

Another project for the yard (Someday)

I love this table. It's elegant and romantic. The greenery softens it up and the touches of nature make it lovely.

My project for the garden part 1

This is my inspiration

I plan on buying a potting bench
to use for both gardening and entertaining

I just love this one above. The bright colors are cheery and would make me want to garden all day.

I can see galvanized canisters hanging from hooks on this trellis. The canisters can hold utensils, condiments or gardening tools.
