Happy Fall!

It's the first day of fall but it sure doesn't feel like it outside. I live in Cali and it's 90 degrees.....still.

I needed to get out of this humid heat funk that I'm in so I decided to dress the house up for fall. It sure feels good. Looking forward to hot soups and warm blankies while I watch my fave tv shows.

I always look for inspiration in my everyday surroundings. Sometimes it's from my daughters, my hubby or even a magazine. It's what drives me, puts a smile on my face, makes me hopeful and happy. I thought it would be great to add some inspirational words/thoughts today and every thursday. Who doesn't need and love a little inspiration.

What inspires you?

Life's a Witch Party

Time goes by so fast. I can't believe how much she has grown.

The best chicken salad ever

Italian Chicken Salad in Lettuce Cups

I have been craving chicken salad but I didn't want the mayo-ee kind. I went through my favorite recipe book and chef, Giada De Laurentiis and found the perfect rendition.

It was so delicious and easy and even better the next day after all of the flavors from the vinaigrette fuse together. This a very light yet filling salad perfect for a shower or get together.

A few tips: I substitued red wine vinegar for white, ommited the capers and almonds(I forgot to purchase these) and used agave nectar instead of honey.

Hanging around for fall

I am so inspired to add some fall decor to our dining room chandelier.

I am loving the one above by Martha Stewart. How creative to make tea light votives with mini pumpkins.

Splendor in the grass

Summer is coming to an end soon and that means I need to enjoy as much of the late summer days and nights before they disappear. I love nothing more than Alfresco dining this time of year. These settings inspire me to have one last special dinner with family and friends.

My must haves for fall

I just love the new fall looks from RUCHE

These looks are winners and must haves for my closet.

If you haven't heard of Ruche you should check it out. Vintage inspired looks for the modern women. Did I mention the price is right too.

Love you green

The boots give you two looks and the mini scarf is perfect since I am a Cali girl and we all know it just doesn't get cold here, especially in fall.

Now this look is so me. The light cardigan is the perfect weight and color. I think that's why I love these looks. It reads fall but it's more geared to our warm fall weather.
